Wooden or metal bench dogs have long been established as an excellent way to hold material to the top of your woodworking bench. We greatly improved bench dogs using modern polyurethane materials to develop a new bench dog called "Soft Dogs".
Soft Dogs are far superior to the usual wooden or metal dogs. Soft Dogs provide a friction grip, nonskid surface - without marring the material. When a sharp tool hits a misplaced metal dog, chances are it will need a trip to the sharpening center. But with Soft Dogs, the tough polyurethane holding cap will not damage expensive cutting tools.
Using the flat surface of a work bench, these versatile dogs can be used as a clamp for edge gluing boards. You can actually "feel" when the right amount of pressure is applied. These heavy duty, nickel-plated steel Soft Dogs are ready to drop into standard 3/4" dog holes.
Soft Dogs are 3 1/2" long, with a 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 1/2" polyurethane grip cap. The internal grip cap steel plate is securely welded to the dog stem before the polyurethane cap is molded on.
