Got the wobbles? Got the shakes? We were working on a particularly heavy wood project when the workbench moved and we missed a critical cut. It was then we decided to build the best workbench we could. We couldn't find any legs we liked. So we designed these.

The BigLeg system is sturdy! It will provide a solid foundation for your workbench. The BigLeg is made from heavy steel with full welded seams. The top of the legs are equipped with a welded 5" x 5" plate with 3/8" holes for mounting your table top. The BigLeg system is finished with a durable and long lasting powder coated finish which can be wiped down with water or a mild solvent. The stringers and spreaders attach to the legs with 1/2" bolts into pre-threaded nut inserts. All assembly hardware is supplied.
Now for the best part. BigLeg has the sturdiest leveling system around. Whether your workbench is on an irregular concrete or wood floor, these massive leveling pads will keep your table on an even keel. We've been in other woodworking shops where everything from sandbags to bolting the bench feet to a sheet of plywood had been tried to keep the workbench from wobbling and moving around. Our polyurethane leveling pads are 3" in diameter and can be adjusted through a full 11/2" range. Enough even for the worst floors. And when planing, sawing or exerting force on your work, they will not allow BigLeg to slide around like a metal pad would.

Bench Tops
Oregon Hardwood Bench Tops
Our high quality hardwood bench tops are made from western red alder. This all-purpose hardwood is readily available and comparatively low cost. Similar to birch, cherry, and maple, alder shows no mineral streaks, dark colors, sap or other stains. Alder has a beautiful natural grain, plus a unique color uniformity between the heartwood and sapwood.
These hardwood bench tops are edge-glued finger-jointed panels. The PVA (polyvinyl acetate) adhesive is waterproof and heat resistant, and contains no formaldehyde to meet all environmental standards. The finger-joint construction is extremely stable to resist warping or twisting. Surfaces are sanded to 80 grit or better. The hardwood bench tops are available in several lengths and widths. All are 1-3/4" thick.
